థాయిలాండ్ ఓపెన్: థాయ్‌లాండ్ ఓపెన్ ప్రపంచ టూర్ సూపర్-500 టోర్నమెంట్ లో భారత స్టార్ పురుషుల డబుల్స్ జోడీ సాత్విక్ సాయిరాజ్– చిరాగ్‌శెట్టి అద్భుత ప్రదర్శనలు కనబరుస్తోంది. ఈరోజు (2026, మే 16న) ఉత్కంఠభరితంగా కొనసాగిన సెమీ ఫైనల్ పోరులో మలేషియా జోడీ గో జెఫీ-నూర్ ఇజ్జుద్దీన్‌పై 19–21, 22–20, 21–16 తేడాతో సాత్విక్ – చిరాక్ ఘన విజయం సాధించి ఫైనల్‌కు దూసుకెళ్లారు. ఈ సీజన్‌లో తొలి ఫైనల్ బెర్త్‌ను ఖాయం చేసుకున్న జోడీగా అవతరించింది.

ప్రపంచ నంబర్ 4 ర్యాంక్‌లో ఉన్న ఇండియన్ జోడీ 19–21, 22–20, 21–16 తేడాతో మలేషియాపై గెలిచింది. గంటా 22 నిమిషాల పాటు జరిగిన ఈ ఫైట్ లో సాత్విక్ – చిరాక్ జోడీ అద్భుత పోరాట పటిమ కనబరిచారు. ఈ గెలుపుతో మలేషియా జోడీపై తమ హెడ్-టు-హెడ్ రికార్డును 8-2కు పెంచుకుంది. పీవీ సింధు, లక్ష్యసేన్ ఇప్పటికే ఈ టోర్నీ నుంచి నిష్క్రమించినప్పటికీ.. భారత్ ఆశలన్నీ ఈ జోడీపైనే నెలకొన్నాయి.

కాగా తొలి సెట్‌ను మలేషియాకు గో జెఫీ- నూర్ ఇజ్జుద్దీన్ 20–19 తేడాతో కైవసం చేసుకున్నారు. ఆ తర్వాత అద్భుతంగా పుంజుకున్న ఇండియన్ జోడీ రెండో సెట్‌ను 22–20తో దక్కించుకుంది. మ్యాచ్‌ను తేల్చే మూడో సెట్‌లో గెలుపు కోసం ఇరు జట్లూ తీవ్రంగా కష్టపడ్డాయి. కానీ సాత్విక్– చిరాక్ జంట అద్భుతమైన ప్రదర్శనతో 21–16తో సెట్‌ను గెలిచి.. ఫైనల్‌కు దూసుకుపోయింది.
